Eastside Physio Balwyn

Our Balwyn physiotherapists endeavour to alleviate pain and reinstate your typical movement patterns. At Eastside Physio, our objective is to provide physiotherapy treatment to reduce and eliminate pain, re-establish muscle and joint function, and enhance your overall mobility so you can live a happier, healthier, and injury-free life.

When something doesn't feel quite right in the body you've always known, it can be frightening and worrisome. At times, injuries and illnesses may obstruct our progress towards our goals – but that doesn't necessarily mean you can't recuperate and recover.

OUR 3 STEP PROCESS FOR BETTER RESULTS:
1.
Accurate
Diagnosis
11.png
  • A thorough history is taken to establish the cause of your musculoskeletal injuries.

  • A detailed physical assessment is done to identify the extent (grade) of your injury.

  • This is really important as we often see people who have failed “rehab” for a condition, only to find that previous treatments were not appropriate for the grade of the injury.

2.
Pain
Reduction

  • Expect to receive hands-on care designed to immediately reduce your pain and speed up the recovery process.

  • The factors contributing to your pain will be identified and you will learn exactly what you should be doing to help speed up your recovery.

3.
Tailored Recovery Program

  • The exercises prescribed are specific to your injury and your individual needs.

  • Expect guidance from your treating physio to ensure that you are improving as fast as possible.  If you have sports injuries, we have programs to aid your recovery.

Benefits of Physiotherapy

Pain management

One of the key benefits of visiting a physiotherapist is the effective management of pain. Physiotherapists employ a variety of techniques, including manual therapy, exercises, and modalities such as ultrasound or heat therapy, to decrease inflammation and pain in affected areas, offering relief and improving the patient's quality of life.

Regained mobility and improved flexibility

Physiotherapists examine and diagnose movement limitations in patients, and subsequently design personalised treatment plans to address these problems. By implementing targeted exercises and stretches, physiotherapists assist patients in regaining mobility, increasing flexibility, and minimising the risk of future injuries.

Increased strength and stability

Physiotherapy treatments often involve strength-building exercises and balance training. These activities not only support recovery but also help patients maintain balance, enhance muscle functionality, and avoid falls, especially in older adults or those with balance impairments.

Accelerated healing from injury or surgery

Physiotherapists work hand-in-hand with patients to develop customised rehabilitation plans aimed at promoting faster recovery. They provide recommendations on appropriate exercises, oversee progress, and adjust treatments as needed to ensure patients can safely and effectively return to their daily tasks or sports activities.

Prevention of ongoing issues and long-term health gains

Physiotherapy can be essential in identifying and addressing the root causes of pain and movement limitations. By offering education on proper body mechanics, posture, and ergonomics, physiotherapists empower patients to take responsibility for their health and prevent future issues. Additionally, they offer guidance on integrating healthy habits and exercise routines into daily life, contributing to sustained well-being and overall health improvement.
